The role involves executing service work on rolling stock and energy storing systems with low to medium complexity, in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
Tasks
- Performing service tasks such as installation and commissioning of equipment, identifying technical problems, and conducting analysis through remote or on-site activity in various service categories (installation and commissioning, routine maintenance, extensions, replacements, etc.).
- Consulting with and advising customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and providing specialist assistance and solutions.
- Coordinating and executing specialist projects through planning, meeting milestones, and regular reviews.
- Troubleshooting simple equipment failures and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
- Identifying opportunities to develop new service applications, equipment, and methods.
- Providing routine maintenance and on-site or remote technical support.
- Approximately 50 days of domestic and 30 days of international travel, providing hands-on assistance at customer sites.
Requirements
- Four years of experience in electrical work, testing, maintenance, or service, working as test or commissioning engineer with power electronics or on electrical vehicles.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing power electronic products.
- Ability to travel worldwide.
- Proven leadership skills with a collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
- A technician or engineer bachelor’s degree in electrotechnics.
- Fluent German, French, and English language skills.
