This is an opportunity to join Avaloq as a Senior Project Manager within the Product & Development organization, supporting the build and roll-out of new product functionalities or components for market-leading clients. As a key member of the Product Delivery & Quality organization, you will lead and deliver complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Tasks
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans (regulatory and/or innovation projects), including timelines and budgets, communicating with internal stakeholders, regional stakeholders, and clients.
- Manage scope, risks, issues, and quality throughout the project lifecycle in alignment with top management and C-suite executives.
- Develop mitigation strategies to address risks and resolve issues as they arise.
- Effectively communicate and provide weekly project status, progress, and potential roadblocks to top management and C-suite executives.
- Bridge the gap between product vision and delivery-oriented approach, ensuring deadlines are met according to the project timeline.
- Lead cross-divisional and cross-functional project teams to achieve project objectives and milestones.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring Estimate To Complete (ETC) is constantly reviewed according to project progress.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and lessons learned.
- Mentor and develop junior project managers and team members.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of project management experience, with a track record of successfully delivering complex cross-functional projects at a senior level in SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and/or BPaaS contexts.
- Proven track record of delivering results in a complex international and diverse environment.
- Strong knowledge of different project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile) and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, with a natural ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risks and develop effective treatment strategies.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong experience managing end-to-end execution of complex programs that span multiple and cross-functional teams through the software project lifecycle.
- Exceptional leadership and team motivation skills.
- Aptitude to discuss technical details with developers and drive consensus among all stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; German is an asset.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a bonus.
- Experience in leading RFI & RFP processes, vendor negotiation, contracting, hiring, and managing third parties is a bonus.
- Relevant exposure to the financial services industry is a bonus.
