Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. We are looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. Tasks
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using technical expertise.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
- Own projects end-to-end from initial idea to design, analysis, and implementation.
- Perform model training, evaluation, and deployment to solve business-critical problems, including exploration of new model architectures, augmenting existing training data, finding better evaluation methods and feedback signals, and identifying headroom opportunities.
- Understand production systems, visualize, monitor, and optimize performance.
- Stay up-to-date with latest tools and research in the field and work actively with collaborators.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience with software development in C++ and Python or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience with machine learning tools and algorithms, specifically deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) and deep learning models.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields (preferred).
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms (preferred).
- 1 year of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products (preferred).
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and Generative AI (preferred).
