This role focuses on innovation in Hilti’s packaging solutions, with the aim of making packaging more efficient by reducing production costs, effort, and carbon footprint.

Tasks

  • Investigate, test, and qualify new packaging materials and processes.
  • Analyze existing packaging solutions and production tooling regarding their remaining lifetime and required investments for rework or new dies.
  • Assist in managing packaging projects for new and existing Hilti tools, accessories, batteries, and chargers produced in Europe.
  • Support the packaging team in identifying opportunities for optimization, including research and attending packaging conferences.
  • Define models for calculating changes in packaging and their effects on production cost, carbon footprint, logistics costs, and value stream simplification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (preferably in Packaging Technologies, Plastics, or similar) and relevant coursework including Project Management, Plastics Production Engineering, or similar.
  • Knowledge of the packaging industry and understanding of manufacturing and global supply chain.
  • Ability to document technical documentation and changes in an organized fashion.
  • Experience in SAP is beneficial.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English (German is a plus).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Proactive and driven to perform tasks and undertake challenges autonomously.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in multicultural and cross-functional teams.
