As the Lead Developer for PAD (Lifestyle) and Young Movers (Kids), you will be responsible for inline Lifestyle products in the fastest-growing, largest product vertical, as well as specialized development for young movers in the community. This role operates at the intersection of high-performance design for all-day wear and disciplined Swiss Engineering.
Tasks
- Lead the technical development for new silhouettes across both Adult and Kids categories, ensuring products meet strict engineering standards for performance, aesthetic, and fit.
- Serve as the primary technical partner to Design, converting creative concepts into commercial reality without compromising function.
- Translate adult performance concepts into kid-specific footwear, addressing unique biomechanical and durability needs of younger feet.
- Manage the end-to-end development process from initial 2D/3D design concepts through tech-packing, prototyping, and final production-ready samples.
- Partner with material sourcing and tooling teams to test, validate, and implement new compounds, textiles, and manufacturing methods.
- Oversee rigorous fit and wear testing protocols for both adults and kids, analyzing feedback to iterate and optimize comfort, support, and durability.
- Act as the central technical hub between Design, Product Management, Sourcing, and Tier 1 factory partners to ensure timelines and margin targets are met.
- Ensure blueprints and construction methods are optimized for mass production while maintaining the brand's aesthetic integrity.
Requirements
- 7+ years of footwear development experience with a proven track record of launching highly complex, performance-driven lifestyle or athletic products.
- Experience in kids' footwear development is a plus.
- Patience and persistence to navigate long development cycles and take full accountability for the technical lifecycle.
- Ability to manage independent projects as an individual contributor.
- Ingenuity and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo and solve complex construction puzzles while maintaining superior performance.
- Extensive experience working directly with overseas commercialization centers and factories, with strong cross-cultural communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-scaling environment.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to balance speed with quality standards.
- Hands-on approach, willing to engage in both high-level concept brainstorming and detailed technical tasks.
- Openness to diverse perspectives and constructive debate to improve product outcomes.
- Continuous learning mindset, especially regarding sustainable materials and circularity, and eagerness to apply new methods to PAD and Kids lines.
