Intern - Data Science (Global IT) [m/f/x]

At Hilti, Data Science Interns turn complex data into meaningful insights that power digital products and enhance customer experience. In this full-time internship, you will gain end-to-end exposure, from hypothesis testing to production-ready solutions, embedded in a highly skilled engineering community. Start date is flexible, and the duration is at least 6 months. No travel is foreseen for this position.

• Participate in discovery phases to understand business requirements and identify data-driven opportunities.
• Translate business needs into actionable use cases.
• Design experiments, test hypotheses, and develop statistical or machine learning models using Python.
• Work with diverse data sources, including internal, external, structured, and unstructured data, and assess relevance for each use case.
• Shape strategies for data collection, integration, and retention.
• Collaborate closely with domain experts across the company.
• Communicate complex insights in clear, business-friendly language.
• Support stakeholders in adopting data science methods.
• Run statistical validations and guide teams through agile delivery using Scrum.
• Contribute to impactful, production-oriented solutions that enable better decisions across Hilti’s digital business.

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or similar throughout the full internship duration.
• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL, with exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Basic knowledge of software engineering practices (e.g. architecture basics, version control, CI/CD).
• Ability to communicate complex analytics clearly.
